POKHARA: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Monday has said he will step down at any time provided the promulgation of the constitution is ensured.

Speaking at a programme organised by Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Kaski chapter, to award FNJ President Bishnu Nisthuri with Dayashankar Palikhe Memorial Journalism Prize, Prime Minister Bhattarai said that the country should be bailed out of the present crisis through consensus among the political parties, avoiding current blame games.

Prime Minister Bhattarai went on to say that democracy does not thrive in the country sans constitution, forwarding two options: the constitution should be promulgated either by reinstating the Constitution Assembly for a short period or by going for CA election.

Seeking third option by ignoring these two options is to push the country into disintegration, Bhattarai stated categorically.

He called for the parties to move ahead as per the five-point pact to resolve the present imbroglio.

Present imbroglio demands third option of disintegration of the 27 political parties as quickly as possible. Imbroglio has consumed all of the nation and there is no answer according to present system. The only answer is to start all over again with a whole new government, including all new civil servants who have pledged blood oath not to accept bribe. Bhattrai should be named "Supreme Ruler For Life" and exercise absolute power to modernize the airport, put hydropower online and build railroad to border.
