RAJBIRAJ: The newly constructed building of the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital has not been operated even after five years of completion of construction works.

Although it has been five years, it has not been handed over. The construction of 50-bed hospital building was begun in 2057 BS but not operated even after 12 years.

The Ministry of Health and National Construction Company had reached agreement to construct at a cost of Rs 22.6 million, but the company had said it cannot be completed at that amount and Rs. 1,776,000 more was added to the cost and was agreed to complete in 2060 BS.

But as works were not completed, it was not handed over even after two years of the slated time when the company said it was ready to hand over. As the hospital administration did not agree to take it, no response has been received from the construction company so far for handover even if the ministry and hospital had repeatedly asked for it.

On this, Medical Superintendent Dr. Tek Narayan Mandal said as the company had not responded, he would draw the attention of the health minister on the matter.
