KANCHANPUR: The Disaster Management Department at the central office of the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) has constructed 75 houses for the flood victims in Kanchanpur district.
The flood which occurred four years ago had wreaked havoc in Jhalari, Suda, Krishnapur, Chandani and Tribhuvanbasti VDCs in the district.
The houses were built with the financial support of the Luxembourg Red Cross.
Technician Assistant of the programme, Paharu Ram Dagaura said the flood victims have been provided with the toilets and hand pumps of community drinking water as well.
Dagaura said that Luxembourg Red Cross had extended financial support of Rs 25,000 for constructing each house, Rs 23,000 to install each hand pump and Rs 8,500 for each toilet construction.
