Home Minister pledges to let security forces work independently

KAILALI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar arrived in Dhangadhi on Friday in course of addressing the regional-level security meeting.


Talking to media persons upon his arrival at the Dhangadhi Airport, Home Minister Gachchhadar said his visit was focused on studying the security situation in the far-western region.


The Home Minister is also expected to issue directives to the security bodies in the region for improving the security situation.


The Home Minister further pledged to allow the security forces work independently adding that transfer of the then Home Secretary Lilamani Poudel was as per the regular process.


Responding to a query of journalists, the Deputy Prime Minister said the recent public statement given by Defense Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari about 22 Terai districts was misinterpreted.


He added that there was a need of unity among one and all to keep intact the national sovereignty and no forces could take the nation into division.
