GULMI: After a four-day closure, all four FM stations in the district resumed their operation on Friday.
The four local radio stations — Radio Resunga, Samudayak Radio Sky, Ruru FM and Gulmi FM — had gone off-air for an indefinite period from Tuesday, demanding that rampant power outage be ended.
The FM stations resumed their operation after an all-party meeting, which included the district chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists, assured that initiatives would be taken to address the problems related to power outage.
The meeting had concluded that the locals were directly affected by the closure of FM stations.
District chief of Nepal Electricity Authority, Nawal Kishore Goit, assured the FM stations of regular power supply.
Earlier on Thursday, the district-based student unions, youth wings of political parties and local clubs had padlocked the NEA office, and put forth a list of demands that included regular power supply.
