KATHMANDU: The Joint Struggle Committee (JSC) comprising Brahmans, Chhetris, Dashnamis and Dalits has withdrawn all its protest programmes.
The committee has withdrawn it protest programmes following the signing of the three-point deal between the committee and the government in Singha Durbar late Thursday evening.
The deal has it that the government will figure them in the indigenous list, and the names of the states will be determined by the pradesh sabhas themselves.
The JSC had been staging demonstrations demanding with the government to figure them in the indigenous list and not to carve out the country along the ethnic lines.
However, the country is unlikely to witness normal life even tomorrow as Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has already called bandh in its turn tomorrow.
