BUTWAL: The Gajedi Lake, which is in the rural area of Rupandehi district in west Nepal, is being developed as an internal tourism site.
The lake is a wetland some 23 kms southwest of Butwal.
The lake is in Danapuri of Gajedi VDC- 3, four kms south of Bansgadhi Bazaar along the East West Highway. The lake is spread in 46.6 hectares of land and is visited by migrant birds from afar.
Some 40 teams come for picnic daily in the area, Chairman of the Samayamai Forest Committee, Lil Bahadur Darlami.
There are two lakes upper and lower run by the Forest Consumer Group since 2054 BS and the Lake Perseveration Sub -Committee has made arrangements for boating in the lower part.
