Gagan Thapa holds lead in NC vote count

The vote count is being carried out the Nepali Congress central party office in Sanepa, Lalitpur.

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress youth leader Gagan Thapa has maintained a lead in the vote count of the party's Central Working Committee membership elections under the open category.

Senior leaders of the party Arjun Narsingh KC, Khum Bahadur Khadka, Pradip Giri, Sujata Koirala and Dr. Sashank Koirala among others have followed him in the vote tally.

Interestingly, Thapa is KC's son-in-law. Three members of the Koirala family--Dr. Sashank, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, and Deputy Prime Minister Sujata--have also held lead. They are cousins.

The counting is being carried out at the party central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur for 25 seats under the open category and 14 under the zonal.

Dilendra Prasad Badu of Mahakali, Badri Pandey of Seti, Kishor Singh Rathaur of Bheri, Deepak Giri of Rapti, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi of Karnali, Bharat Kumar Shah of Lumbini, Surendra Prasad Pande of Gandaki, Ramesh Rijal of Narayani , Arjun Prasad Joshi of Dhaulagiri, Ananda Prasad Dhungana of Janakpur, Navindra Raj Joshi of Bagmati, Ram Kumar Chaudhari of Sagarmatha, Amod Prasad Upadhyay of Koshi and Nerendra Bikram Nembang have held lead over their rivals.

Above 3,000 National General Convention (NGC) representatives of the party had cast their votes on the final day of the NC's 12th NGC in Kathmandu on September 21.

Sushil Koirala has already been elected the party's president, Prakash Man Singh the general secretaray and Chitralekha Yadav the treasurer.

Under different reserved quotas, 16 leaders have already made it to the Central Working Committee of the country's largest democratic party.

Dear Honorable Gagan , Congratulation to you for approaching NC Central Committee Member representing from the new generation, here I am going to request you to contribute still two years for study in the global university. From yesterday evening I drop my regular study and look your past activities, effort, speech, whatever I could. I tried to understand things through political, humanistic and potentiality aspects, whatever I could. I read your effort about Kurilo Kheti of Ferfing and Goat farming of Nuwakot. I also spend few times to relate you to other world political leaders' life history and everyday life that have influenced me, such as Neharu, Benejir Bhutto, Nelsan Mandela, etc. Now I am in Jerusalem for one year, I found the national concerns (Nationality aspects) become more serious and sensitive when one live other country. In the vacuum situation of thinking like "Is there Nepali political activist who believe on their work and study (Karmasilata)", your advancement really touch me. The exceptional NC worker/leader Sushil victory, who always see NC is his wife, NC is his family, NC is everything for his life, has not touch me as much your approaching progress. There may be number of forces and factors to push me to get such insight, one of the reasons may be because of my recent study on "Relation between Political Stability and Education output" as now I am advancing my study 30 instable and 30 stable world countries' situation and my little knowledge in this field. I tried to analysis through various aspects such as your age, your efficiency and potentiality, the mother land Nepal, present approaching global context. Based on all these, my experience and study, I am suggesting you still try to study at least two years one of the global university. When you will be studying in the University, you will be doing and learning the following things: 1- Widening horizon of political thinking through theoretical aspects of politics 2- Informal learning from international friends (students) 3- Leadership skill exercise through university student union 4- Provide input to the constituent assembly as a member using modern information technology Why I am suggesting like this? It would be not interesting and hypothetical you, however, please look once. You take interest you can get enrolment every university there are number of ways to get admission in the university.
