PARSA: Indian Railways, the state-owned railway company of India, has decided to cancel the hiked transport charge on goods imported by Nepali businessmen. A decision to this effect has been reached between officials of Birgunj Chambers of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and representatives of the Indian Railways. The railway company had increased per hour transport charge six-fold from IRs 100 to 600. Nepali importers were badly affected by the move and have been protesting the massive hike. BCCI president Om Prakash Sikariya said Indian Railways has agreed to revert to the initial charge of IRs 100.
