DHUNCHE: Food crisis is looming large in northern Rasuwa with the obstruction to regular transportation service caused by landslide in Mulkharka road section of Rasuwa along the Pasang Lyamu highway.

More than 25,000 consumers purchase food items from Dhunche and Syaphrubesi bazaar every day, informed Sundar Lal Shrestha, an entrepreneur of Dhunche, adding that the stock of daily consumption goods such as salt, oil, rice is running out due to lack of smooth supply of foodstuffs after vehicular disruption.

A meeting attended by Chief District Officer, Rasuwa, Kamal Kanta Regmi, Rasuwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kaisang Nupu Tamang including local entrepreneurs on Saturday decided to ensure smooth supply of goods by clearing the landslides.

Local entrepreneurs said the stock of food items in the store will not be sufficient for more than a week so that the Road Division should be serious towards the smooth operation of vehicles.
