KATHMANDU: The Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) and the Ministry of Agriculture have signed a five-point agreement to run programmes effectively in the marginalized communities including the extreme poor, Dalits, nationalities, women, Madhesis and the disabled in remote and rural areas.
The agreement was reached for working in the areas of the districts where the fund has run programmes to address the impoverished conditions, said the Ministry.
As per the agreement, duplicity will be removed in programmes run by the District Agriculture Development Office, the District Livestock Office and the Fund programmes run in technical coordination of the two offices including on agriculture and livestock run with fund assistance by community organizations, groups and sub-groups aided by the Fund.
The agreement was signed by Joint Secretary Ram Prasad Pulami from the Ministry and Executive Director of the Fund, Rajbabu Shrestha on Wednesday.
Extreme poor and marginalized communities in rural areas are expected to take benefit from the agro-related occupations.
