KATHMANDU: The first Central Committee(CC) meeting of the newly formed CPN-Maoists has commenced from Monday after holding discussions within the standing committee and politburo of the party.
Today’s CC, underway at Kupandole in Lalitpur, has been called with the endorsement of the proposals by the politburo meeting.
CC will continue for 2-3 days and take all the necessary decisions including work divisions for all the leaders and cadres of the new party that includes area committees and district committees and struggle plans and programmes among others, privy sources to CPN-M confirmed.
Today’s CC is expected to endorse the decision to appoint C P Gajurel as the vice chairman, and Netra Bikram Chand, Dev Gurung as party secretaries.
Currently the party has claimed 45 central committee members who had deserted the Unified CPN Maoist to support Mohan Baidhya, the chairman of the new party.
