KATHMANDU: As many as 8 socket bombs were found while digging the foundation for a Nepal Telecommunication Office building at Tamghas in Gulmi on Sunday afternoon.
“The socket bombs were found by the construction labours while they were digging the foundation of an office building for Nepal Telecommunication at about 2:30 pm today,” said District Police Office, Gulmi.
A bomb disposal team from the Nepali Army has been deployed to the site to defuse the bombs.
According to police, the bombs may have been hidden under the earth near the food depot building where Armed Police Force had been stationed during the armed insurgency.
No casualty has been reported.
The construction has been halted due to the discovery of the sockets bombs.
