DHANGADHI: Studies of the students in the far-western schools have been affected as they could not get the textbooks though two months have elapsed since the start of the new academic session.
Students here are still deprived of the textbooks in the context that their first term examinations are beginning soon, said guardian Dilliraj Bhatta of Dhangadhi.
Students here have tough days ahead. They had been forced to stay home for many days following continuous strikes, shutdowns and demonstrations in the past and now they have been facing difficulties to run their school life because of unavailability of the textbooks, he added.
The Sajha Publications, Regional Office Dhangadhi said that though it had targeted to supply 3.3 million copies of textbooks, it was able to supply only 2.9 million copies so far.
Office Chief Leeladhar Joshi admitted that shortage of textbooks in the region has affected studies of the students. He said students mainly from grade 6 to 10 have been hit hard due to the shortage of textbooks.
