Family members 'beat up' woman to death

RAUTAHAT: A woman of Sanonarniya of Rautahat district has fallen prey to domestic violence.
Sukantadevi (28), wife of Chotelal Yadav, of Sonarniya-5 was beaten up to death allegedly by her family members. Her body was found buried last night by police on the banks of Lalbakiya River at Maryadpur in the neighbouring VDC.
Villagers told police that she was tortured by her family members and when police reached her home nobody was found. They padlocked the house and took to their heels.
Police Inspector Janak Sahi said her family members, taking advantage of her husband’s absence, who is in India, might have killed her and buried the body.
