BIRATNAGAR: The political stalemate of the country should be solved in an amicable manner on its own soil rather than seek consensus in Singapore or else where said Khanal on Saturday.
Speaking with reporters at the Biratnagar Airport, Khanal revealed that the parties were very near consensus as they were busy in hectic parleys to end the political standstill at the earliest. He cautioned that the country would be plunged into crisis if the new statute was not drafted in time.
Mentioning that toppling the government was not a major priority in the present context, Khanal said the new constitution and logical conclusion of the peace process were the vital issues.
