POKHARA: Vacancies announced in newspapers can be fake and not only fake‚ they can sometimes teach you a lesson the hard way. A young girl in Pokhara encountered a harrowing experience in the name of facing an interview today.
As per the vacancy published in a newspaper‚ a local media house had announced vacancies wherein they required two women candidates. The prospective candidates were asked to reach the venue at 10 am today.
After enquiring about the job over telephone‚ Samjhana Bhandari of Pokhara‚ a bachelor level student reached room no 201 of Santosh Hotel at Mahendrapaul. She was excited at the prospect of earning while studying.
After a while‚ a young man appeared in the room and robbed the unsuspecting girl of gold necklace‚ ring and her mobile phone. He locked her inside the bathroom and fled the hotel taking her scooter‚ said police.
Police said the youth had registered separate phone numbers in hotel and the newspaper.
SP Kedar Rijal said an investigation is underway. Meanwhile‚ police have arrested the hotel proprietor. According to the hotel proprietor‚ the youth had arrived in the hotel seeking a room yesterday evening.
