KATHMANDU: The proposed Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA), the brainchild of ruling coalition parties has been formally announced today.
At a press conference organised in Kathmandu, FDRA comprising 21 parties chose UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as its coordinator.
“This alliance will exist till polls are held,” said Dahal
“FDRA is not targeted to anybody but is intended to end political uncertainties since the dissolution of the CA.”
As parties have failed time and again to resolve the contentious issues, this alliance has been constituted, said Dahal.
FDRA has appealed to all federalists, republicans and those believing in inclusiveness and also NC and UML to join the alliance, said Information Minister Raj Kishor Yadav
Meanwhile, oppositions have been saying that the alliance is nothing more than ruling parties’ trick to prolong their stay in the government.
Federal Democratic Alliance had renamed it as Federal Democratic Republican Alliance on Monday.
