GOLBAJAR: A socket bomb found this morning at Amarnath Traders at Dhangadhi -2 in Siraha district less than three days of finding one at the Land Revenue Office at Lahan has been defused by a bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army.
People of Dhangadhi had been terrorised from the device. Ward Police Office Lahan DSP Hari Raj Wagle said the bomb was powerful and could have inflicted large scale damage if exploded.
But nothing has been ascertained behind the planting of the bomb and investigation is on, he said.
Traders proprietor Amaranth Saha said two children on bicycle had fled after planting the bomb.
He said, "There was DVD carton left near the petrol pump machine and when opened, it was a bomb and the police was informed."
Meanwhile, the police have not been able to say anything on the planting of the bomb at Land Revenue Office two days ago and even if the All Terai Liberation Front Central Member Prabin had phoned media persons owning up its responsibility.
