Elderly commits suicide in Damauli

DAMAULI: An elderly woman namely Bishnu Ranabhat (61) committed suicide stepping into the Madi River in Byas municipality-7, Patan on Wednesday night, according to District Police Office, Tanahun.
Her body was found in Belbas at 5 pm on Thursday. Locals informed the police after they saw the body lying on the bank of the river.
Meanwhile, two unidentified women robbed cash and gold-made jewels from a couple in Rahapur-4, Bhusnapur of Tanahun after making them unconscious.
The robbers looted cash Rs. 8,000 and five tolas of gold-made ornaments from Bhadra Kumar Shahi and his wife Nil Kumari Shahi by offering them food mixed with intoxicated substances, said Police Inspector at Area Police Office, Belchautar, Hari Sharma.
The couple being treated at Raipur health post had regained consciousness after 17 hours at 1 pm on Thursday.
