Doing your eyebrows? Leave your lenses home

AGENCIES

Here’s a word of caution for all those who choose to get their eyebrows shaped while they have their contact lens on.

• The lens could be subjected to wear and tear each time you apply pressure on the eyeballs while working on your eyebrows. There are two types of lenses, hard lens and soft lens. Hard lens could wear off easily, while the chances are relatively less with the soft lens. So always remove your lens before a visit to the salon. The astringent that they apply after doing the eyebrows is also harmful to the lens.

• If you do not want to remove

your lens, at least roll down your eye balls before placing your fingertips on the eye. This will reduce the pressure on the lens.

• Remove the lens before any hair or facial treatments, as water-based cosmetics, soaps, creams, lotions, deodorants, sprays or cologne can easily damage the lens.

• Always use clean hands to remove the lens as any tiny damage to the lens can cause unclear vision or even damage to the eyes.
