Diwas honoured with Sahitya Shiromani title in India



KATHMANDU: Nepal's renowned litterateur and culture expert Tulasi Diwas has been awarded with the prestigious International Literary Honour in the three-day International Literary Festival organised by the Hindu- Urdu Sahitya Committee in Lucknow, India from March 29-31.

In the festival participated in by renowned writers from Nepal, Japan, and USA, besides various states of India, Diwas was also conferred with the 'Sahitya Shiromani' title on the occasion.

In the festival, the personality and works of Shrilal Shukla, the writer of the novel 'Ragdurbari' and dramatist Javed Siddiqui were discussed and the drama 'Begam Jaan' written by Siddiqui' and directed by Nadira Babbar was also staged.

The novel 'Ragdurbari' is based on the distraction in the people about the Indian independence and there is a revolutionary theme in the writing, said Diwas.
