KATHMANDU: A four party meeting – Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front – convened on Monday evening at the residence of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has inched closer on forms of governance.
“The four party meeting convened at UCPN-M Chairman Dahal’s Lazimpat-based residence has inched closer to consensus on the forms of governance and judiciary,” said UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal emerging from the meeting. According to leader Nepal the leaders have agreed in principle on directly elected president and the executive prime minister elected through the parliament.
It is learnt that the four-party meeting is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning, too, to forge consensus on the remaining disputed issues to be incorporated in the new constitution.
