DHANKUTA: Labour shortages has been felt in Dhankuta district over the recent years after an increasing number of youths started going abroad for employment.
Most of the factories and industries in the district are facing problem due to the shortage of workers with growing number of youths going to the Gulf countries for jobs. Some of the industries in the district have even closed due to the shortage of workers.
There were five biscuit industries operating in Hile but now only two are in operation as most of the factory workers of these closed factories left for foreign employment.
The Quality Biscuit Factory that is operating anyhow is finding it very hard to sustain these days due to the shortage of workers, said Hikmat Shrestha, factory proprietor.
Ditto is the case of Mohan Biscuit Industry, the oldest biscuit industry in the district.
