KATHMANDU: As many as 16 Central Working Committee members of Nepali Congress resigned en masse from the party's departments and zonal committees on Wednesday, expressing dissatisfaction over what they said unilateral nomination made by the party president.
The CWC members are loyal to senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Led by Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, the disgruntled leaders of the Deuba camp registered their group resignation, addressed to NC President Sushil Koirala, at the NC central office in Sanepa this afternoon.
Among them are newly appointed heads of 12 departments and four zonal coordination committees.
NP Saud and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki have already announced that they have given up the coordinatorship of zonal committees.
On July 28, NC President Koirala had added 12 new departments and appointed chiefs of all 42 departments, and named 14 CWC members as the coordinators to the zonal committees.
The NC CWC has been called for tomorrow.
