KATHMANDU: Exhausted by the never-ending political and constitutional deadlock, Chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist, reached Sindhupalchowk today to ‘refresh’ his mind.

Every time Dahal feels the pressure to take a bold decision, be it for the nation or the party, he quietly leaves his mansion and heads towards resorts.

His sojourn seems to be significant for Nepali politics at a time when he has been repeatedly claiming that the parties will come up with some kind of agreement before Tihar.

This time he went to Equator Beach Resort in Sukute of Sindhupalchowk district along with his wife Sita, daughter Renu and grand daughters.

Dahal is also tense because of his son Prakash’s activities. Prakash is living in New Delhi with his new wife Bina Magar.

“Dahal and his family members had reached Equator Beach Resort at 4:00 pm yesterday leaving all his aides in Kathmandu,” said party spokesperson Agni Sapkota.

Local leaders and the party are there to look after Dahal.

Sapkota, who was in-charge of Tamsaling State Committee of the party for several years, is one among Dahal’s coterie and therefore he was entrusted as the party’s spokesman.

Sapkota used to manage all such trips for Dahal to different parts of his home district.

After spending one night at the resort, Dahal reached Sapkota’s house this morning for lunch and a meeting with locals. Sapkota’s Fulpingkot VDC-4, Naubise-based house was popular during the people’s war, where Dahal had also gone in 2006 after the ceasefire.

Local district leaders welcomed Dahal at the village this morning, where he discussed with the families of ‘martyrs’, who were killed during the conflict, besides talking with local party cadres.

Dahal is scheduled to go for rafting on the Bhotekoshi River while returning to Kathmandu. Sapkota said Dahal will return home this evening.

Some party cadres said he is scheduled to hold informal meetings with the leaders of political parties after he returns.
