BIRATNAGAR: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has claimed that the dead Constituent Assembly (CA) would not be brought alive at any expense by launching agitations.
Talking briefly to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it was judicious to go for fresh polls rather than launching agitations for the dead CA.
He further said that the Bhattarai-led government will hold elections of the CA, which has been declared for November 22.
Alleging that the new constitution was not promulgated as the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML were opposed to federalism, Gachchhadar expressed the confidence that the election declared by Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai was absolutely correct and there was no alternative to elections of the CA.
He said that the constitution should be made with identity and rights of Madhesi and Indigenous people and also urged all to be involved in the preparation of the elections.
The Deputy Prime Minister, also the Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) said that budget should be brought on consensus and it would be brought through ordinance if there is no consensus.
He said that it was meaningless to comment about budget, and reminded that in previous years also, the budgets were brought through ordinances.
