BHOJPUR: The district headquarters Bhojpur Bazar called off the curfew for seven hours on Saturday.
Earlier the local administration and leaders of UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML signed a 6-point agreement in the meet on Friday evening. As per the agreement the curfew has been relaxed from 5am to 12 noon.
The meeting concentrated on the attack on Parvat Kumar Rai, Bhojpur campus chief and Gopal Timalsina, YCL district secretary. Among other agreements they concluded that CPN-UML will take the moral responsibility for the incident.
They also made an assurance that they would unlock the campus chief’s room, let the campus run as usual and move ahead by joining hands in the upcoming days by eliminating the hostilities among each other.
According to Baburam Katiwada, district chief of Bhojpur they called off the curfew as they realised the intentions of the parties to move towards peace.
The district administration of Bhojpur had called the curfew to control the unstable condition created by the student wing affiliated to UCPN- Maoist by beating up the campus chief Parvat Kumar Rai four days ago.
According to a source after the district administration called off the curfew locals felt great relief.
