Cops seize 5kg silver

PARSA: Armed Police Force (APF) personnel seized smuggled silver worth lakhs of rupees in Birgunj on Tuesday morning. AFP deputy superintendent Yagya Prasad Siwakoti said five-and-a-half kg silver worth Rs 230,000 and a motorcycle used to bring in the precious metal were seized at the Birgunj checkpoint during the police’s regular checkup. He added that the man involved in smuggling in the silver escaped arrest. The seized silver and motorcycle have been handed over to the Birgunj customs office.
