KATHMANDU: A two-day National Seminar on Consolidation of Cooperatives and Business Promotion began here on Sunday.
The seminar was organised by the National Cooperatives Association Ltd. Nepal on the occasion of the International Cooperatives Year 2012.
Inaugurating the seminar, Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Ekanath Dhakal said the separate ministry for Cooperatives was formed to alleviate poverty through cooperatives.
Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada called for institutional development and satisfaction in services for sustainability.
National Cooperatives Association Chairman Keshav Prasad Badal said it has the involvement of hundreds of thousands of Nepali for proportional development.
Former Minister Rajendra Pandey called for revamping of cooperatives laws.
