KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition’s meeting held at Prime Minister’s official residence on Wednesday morning has decided that the incumbent government itself will hold the next election by expanding the cabinet if the same political stalemate continues eluding consensus.
Talking to the media after the meeting, General Secretary of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum –Democratic Jitendra Dev said the ruling coalition has decided that the incumbent government should continue until the next election is held if the opposition parties are not willing to revive the CA.
He went on to say that the cabinet will be expanded if the parties do not strike a deal on the prickly issues at once.
The ruling coalition came up with this decision at a time when the opposition parties are demanding immediate resignation of the Bhattarai-led government, ruling out the budget and fresh polls through this government.
Unified CPN-Maoist, United Democratic Madhesi Front including some fringe parties are in the ruling coalition.
