BHOJPUR; Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) is conducting awareness classes to minimise the dangers of explosives in eastern VDCs of the district.
The programme is being conducted by the local Peace Committee through the government’s Peace and Reconstruction Programme with the help of the Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction.
Secretary of Peace Committee Bhojpur Uttam Khadka said, “The programme is being conducted in different VDCs of the district to protect people from the dangers of explosives planted during the insurgency.”
According to an INSEC member, the classes are being conducted in Jarayotar, Charambi, Pyauli, Tiwari Bhanjyang, Changre, Bastim and other VDCs of the district.
More than 20 awareness classes are conducted in the presence of teachers, students, social workers, locals and farmers. The classes introduce explosives, teach about prevention measures, disposal process, treatment, relief initiatives and many others.
The same programme was conducted in Pancha, Dummaana, Dewantar, Ranibash, Yun, Washintharpu and Balankha VDCs in the southern part of the district.
Two phases of the programme have already been completed. The third phase will be conducted in the western part and the fourth phase in the northern parts of the district.
