KATHMANDU: Various consumer organisations have demanded that the government should implement the suggestions provided by a committee that was formed to investigate into the irregularities taking place in the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).
Speaking at an interaction organised by the Consumer Welfare Protection Forum in the capital on Thursday, leaders of such organisations claimed that irregularities in the NOC will be minimised if the suggestions provided by the high level probe committee under the convener of lawmaker Bhim Acharya were implemented.
General Secretary of the Forum Jyoti Baniya claimed Rs. 80 billion will be saved if the government was able to stop irregularities in the NOC.
Executive Director of the Pro-public Kedar Khadka urged the government not to make this report as inoperative as the earlier four suggestion reports prepared by different committees.
During the programme, speakers opined the excessive politicisation in the petroleum products should be brought to an end.
