KATHMANDU: The meeting on Friday of the Constituent Assembly (CA) has been postponed to be held at 11:00 am on May 8.
A notice to this end was published by the CA Secretariat informing about the postponement citing special reasons.
The meeting scheduled for today could not take place as the major political parties continued to strive by holding meetings and talks to forge a consensus on the formation of a government of national consensus, and on the disputed issues in the constitution making process.
The major political parties signed a five-point agreement on Thursday midnight to form a government of national consensus, and also to resolve the contentious issues in the constitution making process.
The parties--UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the United Democratic Madhesi Front are now involved in internal discussion to decide the leadership of the consensus government.
The parties are also yet to reach to a consensus on the issues relating to form of governance, judicial system, electoral system and restructuring of the state.
