Bus-hit kills woman



KATHMANDU: Sabbu Uprety, 36, of Janakpur, Dhanusa, died after a bus hit the scooter she was riding in Koteshwor on Sunday. The bus en route to Banepa hit her scooter at around 1:05 pm. She died while being rushed to KMC Hospital in Sinamangal.

Anti-terror training

KATHMANDU: Combating Domestic and Transnational Terrorism Course jointly organised by the American Embassy and Nepal Police, which started on March 18, 2013, concluded on Saturday. As many as 21 trainees, including 10 officers from Nepal Police and 11 officers from Armed Police Force participated.

Stolen goods seized

LALITPUR: Police on Sunday raided a room rented by Ram Kumar Dhimal of Lakhanpur, Jhapa, in Imadole and recovered a cache of stolen goods. However, Dhimal was not present during the raid. Officials said inverters, cooking gas cylinders, solar panels, DVDs and other electronic goods were seized.

Wardens’ conference

KATHMANDU: The 29th Warden’s Conference and 11th buffer zone meeting began at Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park on Sunday. The four-day conference was organised by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. Wardens of all National Parks and Wildlife Reserves and Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Chairmen of the Buffer Zones are participating in the conference.
