Burglars rob Rs. 1 lakh from Balkot house

KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs. 1 lakh has been looted from a house belonging to Sujit Shrestha at Balkot, Naya Basti on Thursday night.
According to police, burglars had robbed around 200 kilograms of brass items after breaking in the shutter of the workshop.
Meanwhile police have taken control of Santosh Pande (26) of Golfutar who was caught red-handed by locals while robbing a house belonging to Nita Pariyar on Thursday.
According to police, locals had nabbed Pande and handed him over to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj.
In another incident, an unidentified man has escaped in handcuffs while police were taking control of him in Bijayashwori Chowk Kathmandu on Thursday night.
The man along with two others had fled the scene leaving behind his motorbike during a traffic check as police were handcuffing him after finding him behaving suspiciously.
Police said that a search operation is being carried out to nab the absconding man.
