KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Police Crime Division on Wednesday nabbed two burglars, who had been absconding after robbing the Durbar Marg-based Bentley Shop of goods worth over Rs 1.2 million on July 23. They have been identified as Khush Bahadur Khadka aka Tajesh (20) of Dolakha and Sujan Khadgi (24) of Kathmandu- 31. Police have also recovered wallets, electronic goods and jewelleries from them.


NHRC to stay open


KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today said all of its offices, including the central office, will remain open during Dashain holidays from 11 am to 2 pm. In a press release, NHRC Secretary Bishal Khanal said all NHRC offices will stay open during holidays to receive complaints.




Deworming drive


KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population is to administer vitamin ‘A’ capsules and deworming tablets to around 3.7 million children aged between six months and five years, on October 18 and 19. A UNICEF study shows the Vitamin A programme in Nepal saves the lives of around 12,000 children every year. The ministry has been running the programme since 1993.
