DHARAN: Dharan Football Club is organising the 13th International Invitational Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the proposed Eastern Regional Stadium from March 22.
In all, 12 teams including two foreign clubs — Namchi Football Club of India and Mirpur Football Club of Bangladesh — are participating in the tournament, informed the organisers at a press meet here on Tuesday.
Hosts Dharan Football Club, Three Star, Nepal Police, Nepal APF, Himalayan Sherpa, Workers Martyrs Memorial, defending champions Ranipokhari Corner Team, Sahara Club of Pokhara, Jhapa-XI, Morang-XI are the other participating teams in the prestigious knockout tournament outside the Kathmandu valley.
Out of the total budget of Rs 2.8 million, the winners and runners-up will receive Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000. “The cash prizes have been increased from this year,” said the President of Dharan FC Subash Rai. Earlier, the top two teams were awarded with Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 erspectively.
Likewise, the best player of the tournament will pocket Rs 25,000 and the highest scorer will be honoured with Rs 15,000. The man-of-the-match will be presented with a mobile phone.
