KATHMANDU: Bishnu Sharma carded seven-over to win the Simulator section title of The Himalayan Times Indoor Golf Challenge here at the Putt Putt Mini Golf in Civil Mall today.
Played over nine holes at the Augusta Course in the Simulator, Norbu Tshiring Sherpa finished second with the score of 11-over. Yubraj Lama came third at 12-over. Apart from trophies, Bishnu received Tag Heuer watch, while Norbu was awarded with Samsung LCD television. Yubraj bagged a trip to Nagarkot package. Hridesh Singh won the longest drive award. A total of 46 amateur golfers from Royal Nepal Golf Club and Gokarna Golf Club took part in the three-day tournament.
In Mini Golf (Corporate) section, Smart Spaces shot one-under to lift the title. CG Mart came second at one-over, while ISME Pvt Ltd finished third at two-over. The top three players received Samsung Galaxy Tab2, Samsung Galaxy Y and Samsung Star3 Duos respectively. In all, 35 teams from corporate houses took part in the event played over 18 holes at the par-42 facility at the Civil Mall.
Chief Executive Officer of APCA Nepal Niraj Bansal handed over the prizes to the winners. Bansal also presented a memento to Founder of Putt Putt Mini Golf Prem Prabhat Gurung. Professional golfer Sachin Bhattarai, who looked after the technical aspect of the tournament, was also handed over a memento by Gurung. Marketing Manager of Putt Putt Mini Golf Nishant Shrestha and Manager Amir Thakuri were also present on the occasion.
The three-day event was organised jointly by The Himalayan Times and Putt-Putt Mini Golf under the main sponsorship of Ruslan Vodka. Civil Bank was the Gold co-sponsor, while Sulux Centre was the official Sponsor of the tournament supported by Herald Tours and Travels.
