NEPALGUNJ: Three districts in the mid-western region--Banke, Bardiya and Dang--are at high risk of bird flu outbreak.
According to Director General at the Department of Livestock Services Dr Prakash Chandra Pathak, the Department has been running anti-disease drive in the districts by putting them at a high-alert zone.
This was informed in a day-long seminar entitled 'the role of stakeholders in preventing and controlling the avian influenza virus' organised by the Department and Regional Health Directorate here today.
Dr. Pathak and Dr. Dambar Bahadur Singh presented the subjective working papers in the seminar.
Local development officers from all 15 districts in the region, district police chiefs, journalists, poultry entrepreneurs, stakeholders concerned and office bearers of the non-government offices attended the programme.
The participants stressed the strengthening of the measures taken to control the disease.
