BIRATNAGAR: Biratnagar Customs Office has raised revenue of Rs 8.11 billion during a period of nine months with a whopping increase in import and export.
The revenue collection during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2068-69 BS has exceeded the target, the office conformed.
The office sources said the target set to collect revenue during the period stood at Rs. 7.78 billion.
The increase in revenue has been attributed to prevention of illegal import of goods, rise in import-export transaction and growing public awareness to pay tax, said Customs Office In-charge Binod Bahadur Kunwar.
