KATHMANDU: In the bid to nail down differences of the Chief Justice-led election government, the big four political parties—Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) — are holding talks once again at the International Convention Centre in the Capital on Wednesday morning.
Update: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel told the reporters that Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi may assume oath of office as the new Prime Minister by this evening.
Albeit their incessant talks, parties are yet to strike a package deal on various contentious issues—the formation of Truth and Reconciliation Commission, rank determination of the former Maoist combatants, voter’s list update and so on—before forming the purported election government under the leadership of CJ Khil Raj Regmi.
During the recent meets held of late, parties were reportedly agreed on almost all the thorny issues of the same except the rank determination of the former Maoist rebel.
Today’s meet is expected to narrow down the differences of the parties regarding the rank determination and give a final touch to a package deal on the same.
