KATHMANDU: The meeting of the major political parties held at the International Convention Centre in New Baneshwor on Wenesday has entrusted the heads of the parties to decide on either to go for fresh elections or reinstate the Constituent Assembly.
“The meeting of the three big political parties has assigned the heads of the parties to decide on either to go for fresh elections or reinstate the Constituent Assembly. Even though the meeting did not strike a concrete deal on any issues, it has opened the door for dialogues among the political parties," said NC leader Minendra Rijal emerging from the meeting.
Talking to the media persons after the meeting, Unified CPN Maoist Spokesperson Agni Sapkota said that the meeting has initiated an environment conducive for dwelling on the current political and constitutional issues.He further said the party heads will soon sit for talks and finalise either to go for elections or reinstate the CA.
The meeting was called at the initiation of UCPN-M Chairman Push Kamal Dahal who had assured President Dr Ram Baran Yadav that the consensus among the political parties would be forged within two weeks during the meeting held at Sheetal Niwas yesterday.
