Bhutanese refugee trio arrested for robbery

According to the Area Police Office Damak‚ they had looted Rs. 800‚000 from the Cooperatives some 22 days ago.

BHADRAPUR: The Jhapa police on Saturday night arrested three Bhutanese refugees on the charge of looting at the Gramin Cooperatives based in Gachchha, Bhojpur district.


The arrested are 33 year-old Bir Bahadur BK of sector 'B' at Beldangi-3 based refugee camp, 41 year-old Gopal Gurung of the same camp and 47 year-old Padam Magar of sector 'B' at Beldangi -2 based camp. They were arrested from the camps.

According to the Area Police Office Damak, they had looted Rs. 800,000 from the Cooperatives some 22 days ago.


It is believed that the accused are habitual looters and were hired by someone for the crime. Police said that they (accused) will be sent to Bhojpur today itself for necessary action.
