KATHMANDU: Senior leaders of the CPN-Maoist and the Nepali Congress held a meeting at the residence of NC President Sushil Koirala in Maharajgunj on Saturday morning.
At the two-party meeting, the leaders came up with a decision that Baburam Bhattarai-led government cannot hold elections, a source at the Koirala’s residence said.
It is also learnt that the CPN-Maoist leaders tried to woo NC President Koirala to go for a round table meeting saying that holding the election will not relieve the country from the present political crisis in the meeting.
Expressing agitations, the CPN leaders warned that the three-party decision sidelining the views of the other parties cannot be acceptable.
CPN Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhya, General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, Party Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal were present from the CPN-M while NC President Sushil Koirala, Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel and spokesman Dilendra Prasad Badu represented the NC in the meeting.
