BHAKTAPUR: The Bhaila dance, a traditional cultural dance which was on the verge of disappearance, is to make a comeback this time.
This dance is performed a day after the Gaijatra festival.
The Bhaila or Bhairav Dance as it is known in the local parlance is customarily performed by the people of the Prajapati community in Madhyapur Thimi of Bhaktapur.
It had been eight years since the dance was last performed.
Thanks to the initiation of the locals of Madhyapur Thimi-10 that the people of Bhaktapur are going to witness this traditional form of dance performed.
The dance is performed during the night time and five performers will represent five different deities at the dance.
