Beijing picks Wu Chuntai as new Ambassador to Nepal



KATHMANDU: China has appointed Wu Chuntai as its new ambassador to Nepal. A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had confirmed on Friday that the ministry received a proposal for agreement on his name through the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.

It is reported that Chuntai is set to come Kathmandu as new ambassador.

Last week, Beijing decided to recall its envoy to Kathmandu Yang Houlan before completion of his tenure. Wu, a security expert by profession, is currently a deputy director general for external security affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
