Bandh affects life in eastern Nepal

TAPLEJUNG: The bandh called by the UCPN-Maoist from Wednesday has affected life in five eastern districts on Friday as well due to the indefinite shutdown.

The Maoist cadres have called an indefinite shutdown in the districts demanding compensation to the family members of the Maoist activists Lagam Limbu and Laxmi Waling who were killed in Taplejung. They have also demanded that the two of them be declared martyrs and action taken against the culprits.


Transportation has been disrupted on the Dharan-Dhankuta road section along the Koshi Highway and in the eastern region. The bandh has affected to daily life in Dhankuta, Panchthar, Taplejung, Tehrathum and Illam districts.
