JHAPA: 'Asian Rural Tourism Festival' is going to be organised on February 15 with the view to assisting the tusker victims in the north-eastern Bahundangi VDC and establishing a rural tourism promotion fund.
Chairman of the Festival Organising Committee Arjun Karki said the festival will last on February 21. Different organisations from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan are also scheduled to take part in the festival.
At a press meet in Bahundangi today, the organisers said the festival is aimed at launching different awareness programmes, promote local cultures and tradition, and support tusker victims and develop the tourism sector, among others.
Famous artistes from within the country and from Darjeeling of India will present cultural programmes.
A total of 41 stalls of different items including agricultural exhibition will be set up. Organisers said that a team of Nepal Army is also scheduled to perform a cultural show.
