KATHMANDU: Declaring five youths as the winners, the finals of QC Awards 2010: The Poetry Slam concluded on December 14. Yukta

Bajracharya, Ujjwala Maharjan, Eliz Parajuli, Alisha Sapkota and Pratiksha Sharma were declared the winners out of 20 youth from all over the Valley who had participated in the competition.

A Quixote’s Cove press statement said, “After competition between 20 participating youths in the first round, top 10 contestants were selected to proceed to the second round. And top five winners were selected out of them.”

The winners were selected by a panel of judges of Nepali poets Viplob Pratik, Amod Bhattarai, Nayan Sindhuliya, the US poet Karen Finneyfrock, and one of the audience Sarita Dewan.

The US Embassy in Nepal in collaboration with Quixote’s Cove had the 10 days long Slam Poetry contest.  Three American slam poet had come for the event.
